Magento Development

They say no good deed goes unpunished, but some good deeds are very rewarding. For example, offering to help re-do someones website. That’s what I did, so that my girlfriend, Karin, can bring her website out of the 1990’s, and sell more from her website and less from eBay.

What she needs is a database-driven website with a shopping cart, not to mention a new web host. After searching I finally discovered a few things, one of which is Magento, an open-source eCommerce solution being used by a large number of stores. I also found TMDhosting.com, a low, low-cost host that offers Magento.

I also registered a new domain name, for testing, and so that the existing store can continue operating until the new one is ready to go live. There’s still a lot to learn and decide…and design isn’t my strongest skill. But it’s a good learning experience. Watch for further announcements!
